Private Client Tax Manager
£55,000 to £65,000 per annum (DOE) | Permanent, full time

A leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Edinburgh is looking for a CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified Private Client Tax Manager to take full ownership of a varied portfolio of high net worth individuals, trusts and estates.
Edinburgh's standing as one of Europe's leading financial centres makes the private client market here as technically varied as anywhere in the UK outside London, with complex work across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and trusts. The team is experienced and collegiate, with a defined pathway to Senior Manager. Crowe Watson Recruitment knows the Scottish market well.
What's the day to day of the role:
- Managing a portfolio of private clients including HNW individuals, trusts and estates
- Advising across income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
- Reviewing self assessment tax returns and overseeing the compliance process
- Acting as a key point of contact and building trusted client relationships
- Mentoring junior members of the tax team
- Liaising with HMRC on client matters including enquiries and investigations
Required skills and qualifications:
- CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified with a strong private client tax background
- At least five years' experience within a UK Practice environment
- Proven experience managing a private client portfolio with technical accuracy
- Strong knowledge of UK personal tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and trusts
- Confident client facing manner, organised and able to manage competing deadlines
