Finance Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join an established and growing business. Working closely with the Directors, you will take ownership of the finance function, providing accurate financial information, commercial insight and strong financial control. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an SME environment, where you can make a genuine impact, improve the way things are done and have direct exposure to the people running the business.

The Role Key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting to the Directors Budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management Providing commercial and financial analysis to support business decisions Monitoring performance and identifying key trends, risks and opportunities Managing balance-sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls Reviewing and improving finance processes, procedures and reporting Taking ownership of credit control and the debtor ledger VAT returns and CIS reporting Payroll oversight Oversight of purchase and sales ledgers Supporting the Directors with wider financial and commercial projects as the business continues to grow The Candidate We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Financial Controller who is commercially minded but equally comfortable getting involved in the detail.

You will ideally have:
Strong management accounting experience

Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management Good understanding of working capital and credit control Strong financial controls and balance-sheet experience The ability to improve processes and financial reporting Confidence working directly with Directors and non-finance stakeholders A proactive, hands-on approach

Experience with in construction, manufacturing, transport, plant hire, aggregates or another operational SME environment would be advantageous, although candidates from other sectors will also be considered. The role would suit a qualified, part-qualified or experienced qualified-by-experience accountant with the right level of practical experience.
