Change Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a well-established Edinburgh based organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join its finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business operating across multiple entities. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function and ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions. They offer flexibility with this position, which can be worked either full-time (35 hours per week) or on a part-time basis of 28 hours per week.
Role Overview :Working within a busy and collaborative finance team, you will support a broad range of accounting and bookkeeping activities, including reconciliations, payment processing, month-end support and credit control. This role would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys a varied workload and can confidently manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:- Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate purchase ledger records.
- Assist with month-end accounting activities.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Allocate receipts and prepare supplier payment runs.
- Process intercompany transactions and recharges.
- Support payroll administration and associated finance tasks.
- Proactively manage outstanding debtors and assist with collections.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and wider finance team.

Skills & Experience:- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeping role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting processes and controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Confident communication skills and a proactive approach.
