About the Role- Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist in the orthopaedic team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE).
- 37 hours per week, permanent post.
- Opportunity to develop clinical, leadership, quality improvement and service development skills.
- Required to participate in the weekend orthopaedic 5/7 duty rota.
- Support for junior team members and deputise for the Band 7 OT in their absence.
- Provide specialist occupational therapy services in elective and trauma orthopaedics.
- Lead clinical sessions and support junior staff.
- Participate in the weekend orthopaedic 5/7 duty rota.
- Contribute to quality improvement and service development initiatives.
- Professional registration as an occupational therapist.
- Strong communication skills and excellent prioritisation and time management.
- Experience in orthopaedics preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to obtain a PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult).
- Formal supervision, development opportunities and peer support from an experienced and friendly team.
- Strong network links to the hospital via bus services and an easily accessible free Park and Ride car park.
