An opportunity has arisen for an Ophthalmic Imaging Technician to join our team within the Medical Photography Service at NHS Lothian. We are committed to providing a comprehensive clinical photography, video and ophthalmic imaging service based over multiple hospital sites within the city of Edinburgh and Livingston, West Lothian. The post is full-time, 37 hours per week (working 5 days over
7). The successful candidate will be based at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in Edinburgh. You will be required to help provide cross-cover support to any NHS Lothian site undertaking ophthalmic imaging duties.

Applicants should possess an HND in Photography. Consideration will also be given to applicants who have an equivalent level media and/or ophthalmic imaging qualification and proven relevant experience working within a healthcare setting. Applicants should be experienced in OCT image capture and Fundus Photography, as well as being familiar with digital imaging workflows and using image management systems.

As well as a permanent full-time position we also have the opportunity to recruit a candidate on part time hours (29.60) on a two-year fixed term contract (working 4 days over
7).

• Help provide cross-cover support to ophthalmic imaging duties across NHS Lothian sites.
• Assist in delivering a comprehensive clinical photography, video and ophthalmic imaging service.
• Support image capture workflows using equipment for OCT and Fundus Photography and manage image data appropriately.

• HND in Photography or equivalent level media/ophthalmic imaging qualification and relevant healthcare experience.
• Experience in OCT image capture, Fundus Photography and familiarity with digital imaging workflows and image management systems.
