NHS Lothian Pharmacy & Medicines Service – Royal Infirmary Edinburgh (Band 7, 1.0 WTE – 37 hours, 12‑month fixed term/secondment, £50,861 – £59,159)

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacist to contribute to clinical pharmacy service delivery across surgical specialities and aseptic units at the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh.

This role offers the chance to work with a team of pharmacists providing specialist clinical pharmacy service to surgical areas such as General Surgery, Critical Care, Orthopaedics and Reproductive Medicine. The post holder will also deputise for the ASEPTIC services manager, expanding specialist knowledge and developing skills in service development, staff management, training and education. Dynamic collaboration across professionals will support the achievement of core advanced pharmacist credentials.

• Contribute to the development and delivery of the clinical pharmacy service.
• Proactively influence prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient‑focused support.
• Apply excellent communication and problem‑solving skills to enable effective decision making in an acute medical setting.
• Maintain a proactive attitude, committing to continuous learning and professional development.

• Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Completed training or equivalent competence mapped to the service (specific details required).
• PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult); non‑members must obtain clearance through Disclosure Scotland.
