An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position within the Medical Equipment Management Service at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, to support the delivery of a medical equipment management service.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, conscientious and technically capable individual able to join a team providing medical equipment management services within NHS Lothian. Based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, you will provide technical support as part of a team carrying out service and repair work on a wide range of medical devices. You will be qualified to SCQF level 8, or higher, in an electrical / electronic discipline, or have equivalent training and experience.
We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and able to work effectively within a team to ensure the day-to-day running of the service. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is a flexible and methodical approach to the required tasks. This post may involve travelling and working at various hospitals and clinics in Lothian.
The Medical Equipment Management service has a track record of developing staff to enhance career opportunities. With a clear focus on quality and patient services, you will join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team providing an equipment management service for a wide range of medical equipment. You will work across many clinical specialities, supporting the delivery of world class healthcare at four acute hospital sites and within the local healthcare community.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

Applicants who do not meet the full person specification can be considered for an Annexe 21 trainee position.
For trainees covered by Annex 21 where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:
- up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
- more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified.
- more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
- more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
