As a major division within NSS, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role in the health of Scotland and on an international scale, leading new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
The PostWe are looking for two dynamic, forward‑thinking nurses who enjoy working as part of a team.
The CandidateYou will require excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. An active interest in training and quality assurance would also be beneficial. Within your role you will contribute to the overall management and smooth running of whole blood and blood component sessions, ensuring donors feel welcome, comfortable and valued. You will be required to undertake venepuncture and medical selection duties.
Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived or worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding five years will also need to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working PatternThese posts will be based at Edinburgh Blood Donor Centre, Lauriston Place, Edinburgh. The work pattern is Monday to Sunday, 28 hours per week, with flexibility required for variable hours, including Sundays and regular late evenings.
