Job Overview
Counsellor (18 months Fixed Term) – 30 hours per week – starting 1 April 2026.
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and organised counsellor or CBT therapist to join our Family Support Team on a fixed term basis.
Working with other counsellors and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide psychological therapies to patients with life-limiting illness and their adult family members and will be involved in facilitating bereavement support groups.
Qualifications- Registered, qualified and experienced counsellor or CBT therapist.
- Accredited by BACP or BABCP or eligible for accreditation.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated self‑awareness, maturity and sensitivity.
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with colleagues, and with volunteers.
- Provide sessions both in person and remotely by telephone or NHS Nearme.
- Provide psychological therapies to patients with life-limiting illness and their adult family members.
- Facilitate bereavement support groups.
