Community Living Assistant

Overview

Join Capability Scotland to deliver high‑quality services for disabled people in our spacious day centre. This role supports customers with a range of disabilities, providing 1‑to‑1 and group care in a fully accessible setting that hosts craft, digital, sewing, art, baking & cooking groups, and links to the local community.

Location:

11 Harewood Road, Edinburgh, EH16 4NT (short break services at Chesser & Hailsland Park, 24/7 services in Currie). The role may require travel across Edinburgh.

• Provide personal care, dressing, medication, communication and mobility support to customers.
• Assist with mealtimes and daily living activities.
• Run and support chosen interactive activities such as swimming, gym, dancing, and “music for all” groups.
• Use assistive technology to meet individual customer needs and outcomes.
• Offer additional cover for day, back‑shift, sleepovers and short‑break respite as overtime.

• Drivers preferred but not essential; driving skills can be considered but are not mandatory.
• Experience in supporting disabled adults is desirable.
• Good communication, teamwork and flexible working attitude.
• Willingness to travel within the Edinburgh area.

• Salary £19,708.92 per annum (£12.60 per hour)
• 32 days holiday per year, increasing to 37 with service (pro‑rata)
