Therole
We are delighted to invite applications for this 6 month fixed term CBT Therapist post within the Directorate of Forensic Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, which has a large and thriving psychology department. This post is both varied and interesting. It will involve providing psychological assessments and interventions with male and/or female patients suffering from serious mental disorder, including major mental illness, personality disorder and learning disabilities, who may be inpatients or living in the community.
Duration,Location, and Working Pattern
- Location based in Rowanbank Clinic
- Fixed-Term Contract (6 month duration)
- Due to the fixed term nature of this post, 6-month secondment will also be considered for internal candidates.
- Full-time position (37 hours per week)
- Shift pattern for this post are 09:00 - 17:00
- To provide advice, guidance, consultation and teaching, as required, on matters relating to cognitive behavioural therapy, to other professions including mental health care practitioners within the CMHTs.
- To provide teaching, training and clinical supervision to mental health care staff practising cognitive behavioural therapy within the health board, as required and agreed with the Team Lead/Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Where this need is identified, there will be a particular emphasis upon supervising and teaching experienced mental health nurses and occupational therapists.
- To contribute to the development of the Forensic Clinical Psychology service and the development of psychological therapies in the widest sense, across all relevant services.
- To participate in service evaluation and audit programmes in relation to own practice and the needs of the Forensic Clinical Psychology service when required, including monitoring adherence to clinical governance guidelines and standards.
- To participate in joint working with other healthcare professionals as required and agreed with the Team Lead.
Essential:
- Post Graduate (SCQF level 11) Diploma in CBT from a BABCP (level
2) accredited training programme. - Significant relevant experience within the NHS. Experience of delivering CBT post qualification in a mental health setting.
- Experience of cognitive behavioural assessment and treatment of relevant client group with a range of mental health problems of varying severity.
- Evidence of continued professional development related to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy through attendance at workshops, seminars and reading of up-to-date professional journals and books.
Desirable:
- Skills in teaching and training others.
