Full-time and Part-time to be discussed with the post holder.

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference while having fun along the way?

We re looking for a caring, enthusiastic female Support Worker to provide weekend support for Graham, a friendly and sociable young man with Down syndrome who lives just off Ferry Road in Edinburgh.

  • Responsibilities on consolidated hours: Saturday 5:00pm – Monday 9:00am
  • Two part-time Support Workers to share the weekend shifts.
About Graham

Graham is a warm, outgoing person who loves getting out and about in his local community. He enjoys spending time with friends, taking part in fun activities, and making the most of every weekend.

At home, Graham enjoys relaxing with his Xbox, watching his favourite soaps, listening to music, singing, dancing, and getting creative. He also loves cooking alongside his support staff and taking part in everyday household activities.

Graham has a great sense of humour and enjoys being around positive people who encourage him to try new things while supporting the activities he already loves.

About You

Graham is independent with his personal care. The role is focused on providing companionship, emotional support, encouragement, and helping him enjoy an active and fulfilling weekend.

Graham lives in a welcoming community just off Ferry Road, where he has friends and nearby services that he enjoys spending time with regularly.

Main Purpose

The main purpose of this post is to provide a caring, efficient and effective 24/7 support service to people who use The Action Group’s services. This will include assisting people to develop their skills by supervising and participating in various support activities in a way that enriches their opportunities and promotes choice. The main duties for this post are detailed below under two headings:
1. Specific Duties (that apply to this job in particular) 2. General Duties (that apply to all staff in The Action Group)

Please note: Due to visa restrictions and our shift requirements, candidates on restricted visas may be offered a maximum of 15 hours per week.
