Department of Clinical Neurosciences Edinburgh Radiology Directorate Band 6 Specialist Radiographer 36 hours Permanent

Our neuroradiology department provides the neuroimaging and neurointerventional service for the East of Scotland. We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious radiographer to join our team. The post will provide an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to develop skills in all aspects of neuroradiography.

The neuroradiology department is located in a purpose built facility on the Bioquarter site in Edinburgh, adjacent to the Royal Infirmary and is co-joined with the paediatric radiology department. This post supports the expansion of services on the site and provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience in all areas of neuroradiography. The successful applicant will work with state of the art equipment primarily operating the cross sectional scanners in the adult neurosciences setting with some cross working alongside the paediatric team.

Our cross sectional team provides innovative neuro imaging including Intra Operative MRI, Laser RF ablation MRI, fMRI, GA/sedation MRI and pacemaker MRI scanning. Our department also supports a radiographer led CT guided nerve root injection service.

Equipment on the site includes, Siemens Axiom Artis Zee (Bi-Plane), Canon Acquillion One Genesis CT scanner and Philips Ingenia 1.5T & 3T MRI scanners.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in the On Call rota and provide cover for evening and weekend shifts.

Applicants should have relevant postgraduate experience.

Previous experience in CT/MRI or angiography would be an advantage.
