Support Worker – Mercy Hearts Care

Salary: £14.00–£15.00 per hour

Mercy Hearts Care is looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to help adults live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes.

As a Support Worker, you will:

• Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, continence, and catheter care with dignity and respect.
• Assist with safe moving and handling, including hoist transfers where required.
• Support individuals with medication in line with their care plans.
• Prepare meals and provide mealtime assistance.
• Carry out light household duties, including cleaning and laundry.
• Offer companionship and encourage social interaction.
• Support clients with appointments, hobbies, and community activities.
• Maintain accurate care records and promptly report any changes in wellbeing.
• Follow individual care plans while adhering to Care Inspectorate standards, safeguarding policies, and health and safety procedures.
• Work closely with families and healthcare professionals, including GPs, occupational therapists, and social workers.

Applicants should have:

• Previous experience in home care, care homes, or a similar support role (preferred but not essential).
• A caring, patient, and respectful attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends when required.
• Willingness to join the PVG Scheme (support provided).
• A commitment to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is an advantage due to the service locations.
