Female Home Support Worker – Visa Sponsorship Available

Invercare is currently recruiting Female Home Support Workers to join its friendly and supportive team in South Lanarkshire, with UK visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates.

As a Home Support Worker, you will provide person‑centred care to individuals living with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities, helping them live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

As a Home Support Worker, your duties will include:

  • Providing personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, and eating where required.
  • Encouraging independence by supporting individuals to make their own choices and maintain independent living.
  • Assisting with daily household tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, and medication support.
  • Offering emotional support, companionship, reassurance, and encouragement.
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in physical or mental wellbeing to senior staff.
  • Supporting service users to attend appointments, access community activities, and participate in social events.
  • Following safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those receiving care.
  • Maintaining accurate care records and documentation.
Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A caring, compassionate, and patient attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers where required.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
  • The legal right to work in the UK for at least six months.
Preferred Qualifications

Although full training will be provided, the following are desirable:

  • At least one year of home care or support work experience.
  • SVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or currently working towards it).
  • First Aid and Moving & Handling training.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.
