Job Title: Band 7 Biomedical Scientist (Histopathology)

This full-time locum position runs Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 5 pm with a flexible one-hour lunch break. What you will do:

  • Perform microtomy on a variety of specimens, ensuring precision and adherence to laboratory standards.
  • Conduct IQC, including HEs and special stains, maintaining quality control across all procedures.
  • Skillfully embed specimens, with particular attention to detail in handling cores.
  • Assist with the clip-up of specimens, ensuring they are prepared correctly for further analysis and examination.

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, you must possess:

  • HCPC registration and a relevant qualification in biomedical science or an equivalent qualification.
  • Post-qualifying experience within biomedical science, particularly in histopathology.
  • Proficiency in embedding, microtomy (including cores), IQC with HEs and special stains, and specimen preparation.
