About Community Integrated Care

Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We transform lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred support that fosters independence and empowerment.

Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.

Since then, we’ve remained leaders in social care, providing bespoke support to thousands across the UK. Today, we support more than 2,600 people and employ 6,600 caring and committed colleagues across England and Scotland.

We have a proud history of breaking boundaries and are always looking for new ways to make a positive difference through bold ideas, innovative projects and impactful partnerships.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time (37.5 hours) Support Worker to support 7 individuals who live in their own homes in the Gilmerton area of Edinburgh.

In this service, you’ll support individuals with mental health concerns, autism and physical disabilities to live independently in their own homes. The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, including socialising, watching movies, shopping, cooking, sports, music and travelling. However, they’re always up for trying new things, so are looking for inventive people who are up for the challenge.

At times, the individuals we support can be challenging, so experience of using Positive Behaviour Support would be beneficial in this team. We are currently recruiting for bank roles only.

In this service, you can expect to support individuals with:

  • Medication administration
  • Cooking and home maintenance
  • Social support and support to achieve personal goals
  • Finance management

Our teams provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so we ask for flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, waking nights and sleepovers. Some weekend availability would be beneficial!

Our Shift Patterns Can Vary But Are Generally
  • 8am - 10pm
  • 9am - 7pm
  • 8am - 2.30pm
  • 2.30pm - 10pm
  • 10pm - 8am (Sleepover)

The people we support like to be supported by people who respect them and their homes, but who also like to have fun!

We like people who are reliable and honest and are able to remain calm under pressure, so they can support people effectively and build fantastic relationships.
