Our Regional Centres are located at Aberdeen, Cardonald, Clydebank, Dundee and South Queensferry. This role is advertised for our Cardonald, Clydebank, Dundee and South Queensferry Regional Centres.
This Role:- Deliver high-quality telephone triage, using your clinical expertise to ensure safe, effective and person-centred care in a fast-paced and innovative service
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, applying professional judgement, knowledge and experience to undertake comprehensive clinical triage of patients
- Ensure patients and their families receive timely, appropriate, safe and person-centered care, demonstrating compassion, respect and clear clinical reasoning in all decision-making
- At times act as a trusted source of real-time clinical support for peers and non-clinical staff contributing to safe decision-making and outcomes.
- Provide clear, accurate and accessible healthcare information to patients and carers, supporting understanding and informed choices
- Offer tailored self-care and health improvement advice, supporting patients to manage their condition safely where appropriate
- Direct patients to the most appropriate service or care setting, ensuring individual needs are fully considered
- Recognise and respond to clinical risk and acuity taking appropriate escalation action to maintain patient safety
- You will be registered as an Adult nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register
- You will possess excellent clinical decision-making skills
- Extensive post registration experience, preferably within an acute or primary care setting, with a broad range of knowledge across a number of specialties
- Critical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
NHS 24 offers a total reward package, with a permanent contract on Band 6 £ 43,231 - £52,679* (pro rata for part-time hours). Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
Competitive salary enhancements for working unsocial hours are in addition to the above basic starting salary of £43,231, this means that the following hourly rates would be applicable -
- Basic Hourly Rate of £23.03
- Saturday / After 8pm Weekday Hourly Rate of £29.93
- Sunday / Public Holiday Hourly Rate of £36.84
As NHS 24 is predominately an out of hours employer, this means that actual earnings will include payments made for working evenings, nights, weekend shifts and public holidays.
As an example, Clinical Supervisors, on a starting salary of £43,231 working 36, 30, or 24 hours rotas with 5 out of 8 weekends, could expect to receive estimated earning as follows -
- 36 hours – £3602 basic pay, £1080 enhancements, £4682 total
- 30 hours – £3001 basic pay, £900 enhancements, £3901 total
- 24 hours – £2401 basic pay, £720 enhancements, £2921 total
