We're looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated Inpatient Unit team at Edinburgh Hospice. This is more than a healthcare role; it's an opportunity to provide expert, person-centred care, comfort and support to people living with a terminal illness and their families. As a Healthcare Assistant within our Inpatient Unit at Edinburgh Hospice, you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to people living with a terminal illness. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll begin each shift by receiving a comprehensive handover to ensure seamless, high quality care for every patient.

You’ll support patients with personal care, mealtimes and nutritional needs, including assisting with feeding where required, while promoting comfort, dignity and independence at all times. You’ll help patients with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and build meaningful relationships with those in your care and the people important to them.

You’ll also play an important part in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment, adhering to the highest standards of infection prevention and control. Every day, you’ll contribute to creating a positive experience for patients and families, ensuring they receive the outstanding care and support they deserve when it matters most.

• Minimum of6 months’ experience delivering care in a health or social care setting
• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care(or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this qualification
• Anurturing and compassionate approach, with excellent communication skills
• The ability towork independently while being an integral part of a multidisciplinary team

Salary:
Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 £ 26,696 to £28,988 pro rata per annum plus generous enhancements for night shifts, weekends and public holidays
