NHS Lothian Pharmacy & Medicines Service Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Specialist Clinical Pharmacist Department of Clinical Neurosciences Band 7 | 1.0 WTE | 36 hours 12-month fixed/term secondment £52,845 - £61,466 (including weekend, on-call and public holidays commitment)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to join the team within the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN), this is a regional centre providing specialist neuro-medical and neuro-surgical care to patients throughout Scotland. This post will help deliver and develop the clinical pharmacy service to the inpatient wards, day case and outpatient services alongside the Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Neurosciences.

the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacist to join the pharmacy team delivering the highest quality pharmacy services across these areas. The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of the clinical pharmacy service in the face of emerging challenges around site capacity and patient flow. The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary teams;

where pharmacists have an established non-medical prescribing role.

About you Essential Qualifications and

Experience:
  • A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Completed (or working towards) training or equivalent competence mapped to RPS Post-Registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience in proactively influencing prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
  • A strong patient-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective decision-making in an acute medical setting.
  • A proactive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
