This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - School Nurse.

We welcome applications from qualified SCPHN School Nurses, and we also encourage applications from students who are nearing completion of their SCPHN School Nursing qualification.

Main duties of the job

To work as the named School Nurse for an identified High School/College and a cluster of Primary schools.

To manage the defined caseload, using a public health approach to provide andmaintainahigh-quality service that promotes the healthand wellbeingof theschool-aged population and their families.

To lead to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme 5-19 and co-ordinate the delivery of public health interventions with a focuson implementing early help intervention, reducing healthinequalitiesand improving health outcomes for children, young people, theirfamiliesand the community.

School Nurses in WWL will apply a public health approach to the universal programme,targeted and specialist packages of care and interventions as stipulated by the Healthy Child Programme,ensuring that support is delivered universally while providing additional targeted intervention according to the level of identified need and risk.

To provide leadership to other members of the 0-19, inclusive of preceptorship, supervision, Personal Development Reviewsandone-to-ones. They will give professional advice and support to parents, carers, health teammembersand other partners within the health arena.
