At MCS Healthcare
, we are looking for dedicated Health Care Assistants to support a young client living at home with their family in Radstock. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistent, person-centred care to an adolescent with a learning disability and epilepsy.
You will be supporting a young person who lives in a loving family home. The client requires reassurance, structure, and consistent support, especially during the night.
They may use their behaviour to communicate, so they need a calm, patient carer who can understand their needs. At times, the client may display behaviours that challenge, particularly if they feel overwhelmed or unsettled. Building trust, offering reassurance, and responding in a calm and supportive way is essential.
This role is not just about care tasks - it's about building a positive relationship, promoting a sense of safety, and supporting the client to feel comfortable in their own home.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Empathetic, patient, and understanding
- A good listener who can respond calmly to needs
- Confident in supporting behaviours that may challenge
- Able to build strong rapport with the client and family
- Providing personal and emotional support
- Supporting and managing behaviours that may challenge in a calm and safe manner
- Monitoring wellbeing and ensuring safety overnight
- Supporting with epilepsy care
- Promoting comfort, dignity, and reassurance at all times
- £17.00 per hour

- At least 1 year of care experience
- PMVA(Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression ) training
- A caring and professional approach
- Willingness to learn and follow care plans
- Experience in learning disabilities or similar settings (preferred)
