1.0 WTE post: 36 hrs per week Permanent Post

An opportunity has arisen to contribute to the Supra Regional Neurophysiology Service based at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) and Royal Hospital for Young People (RHCYP), Little France, Edinburgh. U.K.

Dimensions of the post

The Area Service provides a broad range of Neurophysiological investigations on adults and paediatrics including:

• Epilepsy invasive Implanted EEG electrode monitoring and cortical & speech mapping as part of the Scottish Paediatric Epilepsy Surgery Service.
• Spinal monitoring during scoliosis corrective surgery as part of the Scottish Spinal Service.
• Spinal cord un-tethering monitoring.
• Neuro intra-operative monitoring of brain, posterior fossa and spinal cord during tumour resection.
• Electro-corticography.
• Routine and Drug activation EEG recordings.
• Portable EEG service i.e. SCBU, ITU, HDU
• Video EEG Telemetry.
• 24 Hour Ambulatory EEG.
• Home video telemetry.
• Evoked Potentials
• Physiologist led NCV clinics.
• Training / mentoring Physiological Trainees.

• A minimum of an ECNE part 2 or BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent.
• Extensive Neurophysiological experience in adults and paediatrics.

The Service operates a flexible working approach, as some longer days /evening/weekend work will be a requirement of the post.
