Salary: £40,501 – £47,639

Hours:

36 per week, 52 weeks per year

The Edinburgh Community Rehabilitation and Support Service is looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking occupational therapist to join our team.

We’re a friendly, collaborative service that's dedicated to advancing neurological and stroke rehabilitation. In this role, you'll utilise your clinical expertise to help individuals with neurological conditions to regain independence, improve their quality of life, and achieve their full potential.

Why Choose Us?

ECRSS is recognised as a sector leader, renowned for its innovative approaches and exceptional outcomes.

You’ll work in a highly supportive environment alongside passionate therapists and clinicians, skilled care and support workers, and key third-sector partners.

You’ll experience the rewards of goal-orientated neurorehabilitation as you facilitate functional recovery and help service users regain their independence.

We strive to integrate research and new therapeutic approaches into our practice. You’ll have the autonomy to contribute ideas and actively shape the way we deliver neurorehabilitation to people in Edinburgh.

This role offers fixed hours, hybrid working opportunities, and a competitive salary.

Key Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about neurorehabilitation and meets the following criteria:

  • Has a degree or diploma in occupational therapy and is registered with the HCPC.
  • Possesses a strong clinical background in neurological rehabilitation, with a robust working knowledge of neurological conditions.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with national guidelines, legislation, and policies governing stroke and neurological care.
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment that encourages creative problem‑solving and clinical reasoning.
  • Displays excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build meaningful relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • Acts as a proactive team player who values knowledge‑sharing, collaborative goal setting and a sense of fun.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.

You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone feels valued and able to be their best. We particularly encourage applications from women for senior roles, as well as people from minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities or neurodivergent people, care experienced people, carers and LGBT+ people across all levels of the organisation, all of whom are currently underrepresented.

All applicants will be considered fairly based on skills and experience. Disabled and care‑experienced applicants who meet the minimum job criteria will be guaranteed an interview.
