Position Overview

Scotland HQ office, 35 hours per week, permanent
Salary range per annum: £50,754.00 - £57,339.00

As an RCN officer, you will deliver best practice in relation to our members’ workplace issues through casework, influencing, and negotiating. You will manage your own portfolio of casework, assisting and representing members with employment‑related issues and processes. You will also play a part in member recruitment and propose innovative approaches to recruiting and developing representatives within Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of casework, providing advice and support on employment, professional practice, and education matters.
  • Represent members in employment‑related discussions and resolve workplace issues.
  • Support member recruitment initiatives and develop representative networks.
  • Advocacy and negotiation with stakeholders across health and care settings.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Background in health and social care; experience supporting individuals or groups with work‑related issues.
  • Valid NMC registration preferred, but transferable experience from HR, legal services, or other professional roles acceptable.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Emotional resilience, compassion, empathy balanced with clear boundaries and service delivery.
