Position: People Co-Ordinator (Fixed Term Maternity Cover)

We're looking for an organised, proactive, and people-focused People Co-ordinator to join our busy People Team on a fixed term basis to cover 12 month maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with HR administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a meaningful impact by supporting colleagues throughout their employment journey.

About the Role

As our People Co-ordinator, you'll play a key role in delivering efficient, accurate, and compliant HR administration across the full employee lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding through to employment changes and leavers, you'll help ensure our people receive a seamless and professional experience.

Working closely with the Senior People Advisor and the wider People Team, you'll support operational HR activity across our sites, maintain accurate employee records on our HR system, assist with employee relations processes, and contribute to key people projects and organisational initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting end-to-end recruitment, ensuring an inclusive and compliant recruitment process.
  • Preparing offer letters, contracts, and employment documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Coordinating pre-employment checks, ensuring all compliance requirements are met before employment begins.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and updating our HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Monitoring professional registrations, DBS renewals, and other mandatory compliance requirements.
  • Supporting HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including starters, contractual changes, and leavers.
  • Assisting with employee relations administration, including preparing documentation, taking minutes, and following up on agreed actions.
  • Producing HR reports and supporting the monitoring of key people metrics such as sickness absence, turnover, induction, training, and appraisal compliance.
  • Supporting People Team projects, organisational changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as a positive ambassador for the People Team and Healthcare Management Trust.
About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and enjoys working collaboratively. You'll be confident managing multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.

Essential
  • 2–3 years' administration experience within a generalist HR environment.
  • Experience coordinating recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Experience maintaining employee records and HR files.
  • Experience updating and maintaining a HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to produce and interpret HR data.
  • A good standard of education or relevant professional qualification.
Desirable
  • Experience using the iTrent HR system.
  • Previous HR experience within healthcare or hospital services.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification, or currently working towards it.
