Human Resources Business Partner – Manufacturing & Corporate functions

Location:
Home Counties

We are partnering with a successful and evolving organisation to appoint an outstanding Human Resources Business Partner into a broad and influential role supporting both manufacturing operations and corporate functions.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished HR professional who enjoys the variety of partnering very different areas of a business from fast-paced, operational manufacturing environments through to professional and corporate teams.

Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you will provide commercially focused HR leadership across your client groups, ensuring the people agenda is closely aligned to business priorities and delivering tangible improvements in performance, capability, engagement and organisational effectiveness.

The Role

As Human Resources Business Partner, you will build strong relationships across both operational and corporate populations, becoming a trusted adviser to leaders while maintaining a clear understanding of the commercial and organisational priorities of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering leaders across manufacturing and corporate functions to develop and deliver their people priorities
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and providing credible, commercially focused HR advice
  • Coaching and challenging leaders to strengthen management capability and improve people leadership
  • Supporting organisational design, workforce planning and resource decisions
  • Leading and supporting business change, restructuring and transformation programmes
  • Driving effective performance management and helping create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Identifying talent and capability requirements and supporting succession and development planning
  • Using people data and insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities and translate these into meaningful actions
  • Supporting employee engagement, retention and cultural initiatives
  • Providing guidance on complex employee relations matters, balancing commercial pragmatism with appropriate governance
  • Working collaboratively with HR specialist teams across Talent, Reward, Learning & Development and Employee Relations
  • Supporting the continued development of HR processes, frameworks and ways of working across the organisation
About You

We are looking for a credible and commercially minded HR Business Partner who can move confidently between manufacturing operations and a corporate environment.

You will understand that effective HR partnering looks different across these populations. You may be coaching an operational leader around capability and performance one day and supporting a functional leader with organisational design, talent or transformation the next.

You will bring:
  • Strong HR Business Partnering experience within a sizeable and complex organisation
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food, engineering, industrial or another operationally intensive environment
  • Experience of partnering corporate or professional functions alongside operational teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and constructively challenge
  • Experience of organisational change, restructuring and transformation
  • Strong employee relations knowledge and a sound understanding of UK employment legislation
  • Experience across performance, talent, succession, workforce planning and organisational development
  • Strong analytical capability and confidence using people data to inform decisions
  • Commercial awareness and an ability to understand the wider business implications of people decisions
The Person

You will be equally comfortable on the manufacturing floor and around the leadership table.

Visible, approachable and pragmatic, you will build credibility quickly with operational teams while bringing the professional judgement and strategic thinking required to partner corporate functions effectively.

We are looking for someone who goes beyond providing HR advice. You will understand the business, anticipate people challenges, bring solutions and be prepared to challenge thinking when there is a better way forward.

You will combine strong HR technical knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in how people, leadership and organisational capability can improve business performance.

For an ambitious HR professional, this represents an excellent opportunity to broaden their partnering experience across both manufacturing and corporate environments, gaining exposure to a varied and commercially important people agenda.

If you are a degree-educated, CIPD Level 7 qualified HR professional with strong operational HR experience and the ability to partner effectively across both manufacturing and corporate functions, we would be delighted to hear from you.

All applications and initial conversations will be treated in the strictest confidence
