This role sits right at the centre of our £100M+ ads business, powering the data behind every impression, click and booking. - Big impact, big responsibility:
As a Data Engineer in our Advertising tribe (aka the Robins 🐦), your work will directly shape our ads strategy for years to come. - From insights to influence:
You’ll help our partners – including some of the world’s biggest travel brands – understand performance, predict outcomes and maximise ROAS. - A product-led mindset:
You’ll build data products that don’t just work, but genuinely help teams and partners make smarter decisions.
- Building end-to-end data products:
Leading implementation across analysis, processing, ingestion and visualisation of advertising data. - Powering Brand Analytics:
Tracking and visualising changes in user behaviour to inform partners and improve performance forecasting. - Owning booking ingestion:
Consolidating 1st and 3rd party data to unlock deeper understanding of traveller behaviour. - Creating a single source of truth:
Bringing together fragmented advertising datasets into robust, trusted ads entities. - Working across the stack:
Supporting and scaling data products using Databricks, Airflow, Astronomer, Python (PySpark) and Druid. - Collaborating by default:
Partnering closely with analysts, engineers and product teams across the data engineering community. - Raising the bar:
Championing Skyscanner’s data engineering best practices across the squad.
- Technically capable:
You’ve worked with some of Databricks, Airflow, Astronomer, Python (PySpark) or Druid (and you’re keen to learn more). - Built for scale:
You know how to design, build and operate data systems that perform under pressure. - Engineering-minded:
You care deeply about best practices, quality and solving complex problems the right way. - Product-focused:
You want to build things that deliver real value to Skyscanner, our partners and our travellers. - Collaborative:
