JOB TITLE: Senior AI Model Risk Manager
SALARY: £92,701 - £109,060
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Bristol
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this opportunity
Join us as a Senior Risk Manager specialising in AI model risk. You'll lead independent oversight of AI models, shape our AI Assurance Framework, and provide expert challenge across high profile initiatives in Insurance, Pensions & Investments. This role offers significant exposure to senior leaders and a chance to influence how responsible AI is delivered across the Group.
Responsibilities- Lead independent validation of complex AI models.
- Strengthen AI controls and shape the Group AI Assurance Framework.
- Support and deputise for the Head of Model Risk Management.
- Participate in key governance forums.
- Actively contribute to the upskilling and professional development of team members.
- Provide advice on regulatory developments.
- Build strong relationships across risk, actuarial, data and technical teams.

What you ll need- Proven experience deploying AI models safely and responsibly within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing data quality, model performance, and ongoing monitoring challenges across the AI model lifecycle.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
- Strong judgement and ethical standards.
- Ability to collaborate with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in risk management for financial services.
