Job Overview

Business Architect at Tesco Bank within Barclays responsible for developing and evolving the bank’s enterprise technology architecture by defining and delivering solutions, strategies and execution plans aligned with business and technology priorities. Operates at an enterprise‑wide level, connecting business strategy to operating models, customer journeys and technology capabilities.

• Develop, evolve and implement the bank’s technology architecture and strategies aligned to business and technology objectives, unlocking execution and run.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including Enterprise Architecture teams and other developers, to provide subject‑matter expertise, share knowledge and foster continuous improvement.
• Assess new technologies to address current and future business needs, determining optimal solutions while balancing compliance, governance, security and funding requirements.
• Monitor and analyze the performance, resiliency and stability of applications to identify and resolve issues, communicating and documenting key findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and identify industry developments that may impact the bank’s operations and controls.
• Support engineering and architecture community initiatives to mentor team members and share knowledge.
• Lead and influence cross‑functional initiatives, providing strategic architectural leadership to support long‑term organisational transformation and growth.

• Proven experience as a Business Architect, aligning strategy, operating models, capabilities and technology outcomes across an enterprise environment.
• Strategic thinking and planning capability with experience translating long‑term business objectives into actionable architectures, roadmaps and transformations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence decision‑making across business, technology and senior leadership teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, translating complex business and technical concepts into clear, simple, engaging messages tailored to a range of audiences.
• Knowledge of risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, plus relevant job‑specific technical skills.
