Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

The Opportunity

As part of our continued investment in digital delivery across the natural and built environment, we’re looking for an experienced Geospatial Developer to design and maintain reliable systems for managing spatial data. You’ll help consultants, designers and engineers trust, discover and use geospatial data at project scale, supporting timely insight for clients across infrastructure, energy, cities and environmental markets.

You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team of more than 50 geospatial professionals with a broad range of experience, backgrounds and technical skills. The team values every individual’s contribution and supports growth through clear career pathways, mentoring and continuous learning.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?
  • You have experience with geospatial applications such as ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • You can apply spatial analysis, modelling or AI-enabled workflows, including machine learning, Earth Observation, constraint analysis, route optioneering or site suitability.
  • You are confident working with data engineering and cloud platforms such as Python, SQL, Databricks or Azure.
  • You can build repeatable, scalable and reproducible tools for large spatial datasets and enterprise geospatial systems.
  • You are able to translate business or engineering needs into robust spatial, analytical and AI-enabled workflows.
  • You have a relevant degree, such as GIS, Remote Sensing/Earth Observation, Geography, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science or Environmental Science, or equivalent industry experience and demonstrated learning.

*** Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application and for the duration of employment. Any offer made will be subject to satisfactory proof of immigration status.***
