Senior Solicitor - Employment Law – (Glasgow or Edinburgh)
A highly respected law firm is seeking a Senior Solicitor (2+ years’ PQE) to join its top‑tier Employment & Immigration team. The OpportunityYou will join a market‑leading Employment team recognised in major legal directories for its excellence. The role offers exposure to a broad spectrum of employment matters, combining advisory, litigation, and transactional work. You will work with a diverse client base across multiple sectors, providing pragmatic and commercially focused employment law advice.
The position can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh
, with hybrid and flexible working options available.
- Handling employment tribunal matters, including drafting ET3 responses, preparing witness statements, analysing evidence and undertaking advocacy.
- Advising clients directly on day‑to‑day HR and employment law issues
- Drafting, reviewing and updating employment contracts, policies and procedures.
- Supporting corporate transactions with employment law due diligence and advice.
- Advising on employee relations matters and drafting/negotiating settlement agreements.
- Delivering training to clients on employment law issues.
- Participating in business development aligned to the team’s strategic objectives.
- Supervising and supporting junior members of the team where appropriate.
- A qualified solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE in employment law (commercial firm experience preferred).
- Strong interest in employment law, with a proactive and commercially minded approach.
- Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills.
- Able to manage a busy and varied caseload while working collaboratively within a wider team.
- Confident in building client relationships and tailoring advice to meet commercial needs.
- Highly organised, detail‑focused and motivated to continue developing your expertise.
- An interest in immigration law is welcome, with opportunities to develop this specialism if desired.
