Real Estate Associate Solicitor – Legal Director
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Real Estate Solicitor to join an established Property team in Edinburgh, with the role offering flexibility to appoint at Associate to Legal Director level, depending on experience.
You will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of high-quality Scottish real estate investment, development and asset management matters
, acting for a diverse client base including investors, funds and property owners.
You will be involved in a varied caseload covering investment and development work, with responsibilities including:
- Acting on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property assets
- Advising investors and property owners throughout the lifecycle of their Scottish real estate portfolios
- Negotiating sale and purchase agreements
- Undertaking title examination and reporting
- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, primarily acting for landlords and investors
- Advising on lease asset management matters, including regears, renewals and variations
- Supporting property development and regeneration projects
- Working closely with colleagues across related practice areas to deliver a seamless service to clients
- Managing your own transactions and client relationships
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team
- Identifying opportunities to develop client relationships and contribute to business development
You will be an experienced Scottish Real Estate Solicitor with 8+ years' PQE
, with a strong background in commercial property transactions. The seniority of the appointment will be flexible depending on experience and level of responsibility.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience in Scottish real estate law and transactions
- Experience across investment, development and/or asset management work
- Excellent technical and drafting skills
- A pragmatic and commercially focused approach
- Strong client management and communication skills
- The ability to manage transactions independently while working collaboratively within a wider team
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- An interest in the property sector and a genuine desire to develop long-term client relationships
- Experience supporting and developing junior lawyers
