Overview
Archer UK currently have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join the team. The successful candidate will be part of our new Workover Rig team and will also support our Platform Operations team.
Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience ensuring procurement is executed at an operational/delivery level, but also have a track record of fostering and maintaining long-term strategic international supplier relationships
.
You will will be based in Blackburn, Aberdeen
. You will join on a full-time, permanent basis.
- Responsible for the procurement of goods and services to support CWR operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers across global regions to meet CWR requirements.
- Be part of global contract negotiations, including pricing, commercial terms, and service agreements along with the Supply Chain manager.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs: quality, delivery, cost, and compliance.
- Manage supplier risk, ensure business continuity, and resolve escalated issues.
- Review and process approved requisitions, raising and placing of purchase orders, including equipment repairs and equipment rentals, checking order acknowledgements and updating IFS.
- Coordinate the movement of both domestic and international freight.
- Communicate with and participate in supplier meetings.
- Expedite orders, produce IFS Tracker report and progress chasing reports.
- Checking and processing supplier invoices in a timely manner, ensuring contract and pricing compliance.
- Responsible for raising Transport Orders to ensure traceability of rental equipment being returned to suppliers.
- Co-ordinate with the offshore platforms, warehouse, maintenance teams and other relevant departments on order status, supplier related issues, procurement procedures and problem resolution.
- Generate reports from IFS, as and when required by the Supply Chain Manager and CWR Rig Manager.
- Process non-conformance reports and ability to monitor and manage suppliers performance reviews.
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager with various sourcing strategies to achieve improvements in quality, safety and cost savings over all commodity groups.
- Supplier management including resolution of minor contractual issues.
- Provide Supply Chain Manager with regular updates on supplier performance and project status.
- Carry out special projects as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
- Participate in on-call rota.
- Preferably hold or be working towards a qualification in CIPS.
- Extensive experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably in a global or multinational environment.
- Experience with global supplier markets and cross-border purchasing.
