Description

The Head of Supplier Management is responsible for leading supplier management across UK Operations, ensuring third‑party providers deliver resilient, high‑quality and cost‑effective services aligned to operational and business priorities. The role holder owns supplier oversight across the full lifecycle, including performance, governance, risk and relationship management, and drives continuous improvement, operational resilience and value delivery. The role works closely with Operations, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Finance to strengthen supplier governance and control, including ensuring outsourcing and intergroup arrangements are supported by appropriate Supplier Management capability, capacity and governance to evidence effective oversight.

Role Responsibilities Strategy
  • Define and lead the supplier management strategy for UK Operations, aligned to business priorities, risk appetite and control requirements.

  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers to improve service delivery, support innovation and deliver sustainable value.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Operations and corporate functions to support effective governance, clear decision‑making and strong delivery outcomes.

  • Provide clear reporting and insight on supplier performance, risks and priorities to support leadership oversight and action.

Process
  • Own the supplier governance and performance framework across key operational suppliers.

  • Monitor supplier performance against contractual commitments, service levels, KPIs and customer outcomes, taking action where standards are not met.

  • Identify, assess and manage supplier‑related risks, including operational, regulatory, financial, concentration and continuity risks.

  • Lead escalation and remediation activity for supplier issues or service failures, ensuring timely resolution and clear accountability.

  • Drive continuous improvement across the supplier base, including service optimisation, process simplification, resilience planning and cost efficiency.

  • Support sourcing, onboarding, transition and exit activity to ensure controlled change and operational readiness.

  • Ensure outsourcing and intergroup arrangements are supported by appropriate Supplier Management capability, resources and governance to demonstrate effective oversight and ongoing control.

  • To ensure that third‑party suppliers deliver good customer outcomes and minimise consumer harm through effective oversight, appropriate service standards, robust controls, and meaningful customer outcome reporting.

People
  • Lead supplier management activity across UK Operations, setting clear standards, priorities and expectations.

  • Build and develop a strong supplier management capability with the right commercial, operational and risk management discipline.

  • Act as the senior escalation point for critical supplier issues and strategic supplier decisions.

  • Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement and sound risk management in line with FNZ values and control expectations.

Experience Required
  • Strong experience in supplier management, vendor management, outsourcing, procurement or commercial operations within a complex operational environment.

  • Good understanding of supplier governance, service management, third‑party risk and performance frameworks.

  • Experience overseeing outsourcing and intergroup arrangements, including the governance, capability and resource requirements needed to evidence effective oversight.

  • Experience managing strategic suppliers and influencing senior stakeholders across operational and corporate functions.

  • Strong commercial judgement, balancing service quality, resilience, cost and risk.

  • Experience working in a regulated environment with strong governance and control expectations.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to turn insight into action.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with credibility to operate effectively at senior level.
