We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Caretaker/Janitor to come and join our Edinburgh school’s account in Gracemount High School
, 136 Lasswade Rd, Edinburgh EH16 6TZ

£13.49 per hour

The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week (Shift patterns: Shifts 6am - 2pm, 8am - 4pm and 2pm
-10pm - plus 12.5% shift allowance)

We work in partnership with our clients and end-users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of the schools.

• Ensure smooth running of the school premises
• Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (i.e., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
• To ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
• Daily responsible to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
• Checking the premises to guard against vandalism
• Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
• Litter picking and general clearing of external areas

• Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
• Good Team Player
• Flexible with shift work
• Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site client and employees
• Thisrole will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in astrategicand lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
