Park Attendant

Onchan District Commissioners are looking for seasonal Park Attendants to work as part of a team to ensure courteous, friendly and professional assistance to members of the public, and all other visitors and users of Onchan Pleasure Park, whilst delivering a safe environment for users to enjoy the various attractions. Assist where appropriate with other duties in and around Onchan Pleasure Park.

Hours arranged on a rota:
Monday to Sunday - approximately 20-25 hours per week

• Morning Shift - 9:30am to 1:30pm
• Afternoon Shift - 1:00pm to 6:00pm

Closing Date: 28th February 2026

• Make ready all of the electric boats from their overnight moorings in the middle of the lake, ensure they are clean and covers stowed correctly. Upon completion of the day, moor the boats in the middle of the lake and ensure they are placed on charge.
• Prepare the bumper boats for operation, install engines in the boats, fuel and test prior to use. Check Hypalons and correctly inflated, once finished, remove engines and secure away, place boats securely in the middle of the pool.
• Ensure electric kiddie cars are placed on the track and are clean and ready for use, at the end of the day store them in the huts and place on charge.
• Place all hole markers out on the Pitch and Putt course and ensure all holes are debris free.
• Place out all the deckchairs on the green and clean throughout out the day.
• Litter pick all areas of Onchan Pleasure Park and Playground.
• Carry out weeding and watering of the flower beds.
• Prepare any other equipment as required.
• Supervise the use of attractions and ensure they are being used in a safe and proper manner.
• To ensure that the attractions are only used by members of the public who have paid the appropriate fees at the pay kiosk.
• The post holder will not handle cash personally and will direct members of the public to the pay kiosk.
• Ensure the safe and secure storage of all equipment used within Onchan Pleasure Park.
• Be responsible for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues and members of the public.
• Ensure that the correct Personal Protective Equipment, which is supplied and mandatory is worn at all times.
• Report all issues through the line management within the department.
• Maintain records and report all issues with equipment so they can be repaired.
• Such other duties of a similar level of responsibility as may be required from time to time by the line manager.

All training will be provided as necessary.

• Minimum Age of 16 years old.
• Ability to complete written records.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling operations and a willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to engage in a courteous manner with the public.
• Ability to work as part of a team, on your own and follow instructions.

• Previous experience and knowledge of working with attractions or similar role.
