Salary: £26,806 – £27,032,
Hours:
36 per week, 52 weeks, Shift Pattern:
Four on Four off Rotational Shift Pattern from 09:30 am until 20:15 pm (90 minutes unpaid break)
- Cleaning of public toilets, including all surfaces, floors, fixtures and fittings to ensure facilities remain clean, hygienic and serviceable; empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Recover and conduct reactive cleaning after anti‑social behaviour, vandalism or accidental spillages, including removal and safe disposal of sharps (syringes, etc.) using CEC safe working procedures.
- Drive vehicles appropriate to licence type; perform daily vehicle checks, attend workshops when required and complete associated paperwork.
- Open and close public conveniences at scheduled times, including key‑holding responsibilities.
- Collect and distribute cleaning stores to public convenience locations; replenish consumables such as toilet paper, hand towels and soap to prevent depletion.
- Carry out visual inspections of facilities, including examination of ball‑cocks and water fittings; undertake minor repairs and maintenance, replacing light bulbs and tubes.
- Identify and report repairs, maintenance issues and vandalism incidents to line manager; recommend facility closure for health and safety reasons while repairs are initiated.
- Ensure duties follow CEC safe working practices; maintain health, safety and public safety during cleaning processes.
- Handle anti‑social behaviour and contact emergency services, departmental and outside agencies as required.
- Complete daily paperwork, including work sheets, repair books and incident report sheets where applicable.
- Respond to weather emergencies such as ice, snow, flooding and gritting.
- Operate security alarm systems, close accessible windows and doors, switch off lights, and leave premises safe and secure when closing.
- Regulated work with children and/or protected adults; must join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 scheme or undergo an update check.
- Overseas Criminal Record Check if spent continuous 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years; required as part of the offer.
