Salary: £26,205 - £26,525 (pro-rata for part-time)
Hours:
10 per week, 52 weeks
Working pattern for position is Monday – Friday 6am–8am
As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you will be a key member of our Facilities Management team. You'll deliver a vital cleaning service across our estate to ensure our properties are safe and clean places to work or learn in.

Major Tasks / Job Activities- Empty litter and recycling bins
- Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings
- Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables
- Provide emergency and reactive cleaning as required, e.g. remove graffiti, body fluid spillages, accidental spillages
- Care for and maintain equipment used in carrying out the above duties
- Other tasks as may reasonably be required related to the role, including supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings where required
- Deliver to the cleaning specification requirements and cooperate with performance measurement so that overall agreed standards are met
- Act as a key holder: operation of security alarm systems, closing accessible windows and doors, switching off lights and ensuring premises are left safe and secure when closing
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
Successful completion of both checks is required before unconditional offer of employment.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
