Flexible Cleaning Operative – Balerno Community High School

Hours:

20 per week

Salary £26,205 - £26,525 (pro rata for part time)

4‑8pm Monday – Friday (52 weeks)

As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you will be a key member of our Facilities Management team, delivering vital cleaning services across our estate to ensure that our properties remain safe, clean places to work or learn. • Empty litter and recycling bins.
• Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
• Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
• Perform emergency and re‑active cleaning as required – e.g., removal of graffiti, body fluid spillages, accidental spillages.
• Care for and maintain all equipment used to perform the above duties.
• Other tasks reasonably related to the role, including supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings where required.
• Deliver to the cleaning specification requirements and cooperate with performance measurement to meet overall agreed standards.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check will be required.
