We’re looking for a Domestic Cleaner to join our Sodexo team at Ferry field House. In this vital role, you’ll help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your work will directly support health and wellbeing throughout the hospital. - Deliver high standards of cleaning across clinical areas, maintaining a safe, hygienic environment in line with national cleanliness standards
- Provide excellent customer service, supporting a positive patient, staff and visitor experience
- Complete routine and ad-hoc cleaning tasks in line with schedules, policies and infection control requirements
- Ensure effective waste management, including safe disposal of domestic and clinical waste
- Replenish consumables and maintain cleaning equipment, using materials safely and in line with COSHH regulations
- Work collaboratively with clinical teams and colleagues to deliver a patient‑focused service
- Promote infection prevention by maintaining strict hygiene standards and following all policies and procedures
- Support health & safety by using PPE, reporting risks, and contributing to a safe working environment
- Previous experience in healthcare or a customer‑facing role is desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with patients, visitors and colleagues
- Team player with a positive, professional attitude and the ability to work independently when required
- Able to follow instructions, maintain high standards and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
- Physically capable of manual tasks (e.g. moving equipment), with good basic literacy and high personal hygiene standards
