Bank Maintenance Person

Salary: £14.10 per hour

Working Hours:

Bank 0 hour contract

Will be working between:

• Llys Hafren
  - Welshpool
• Plas Cae Crwn
  - Newtown
• Llwyn Teg
  - Llanfyllin
• Maes-Y-Wennol
  - Llanidloes

• Ensure the exterior of the building and grounds are maintained to a safe and good standard.
• Coordinate and control all building works and refurbishments with minimum disturbance to residents and staff.
• Carry out routine monitoring and repairs on all systems, liaising with the Home Manager when specialist repairs are required.
• Ensure regular tests and checks are carried out and recorded, including boiler function checks, fire alarm systems activation, water services and water temperature tests.
• Advise the Home Manager on any potential maintenance problems, e.g. heating systems, refrigeration, electrics, gas, and faulty equipment.
• Comply with all aspects of Health & Safety at Work Act (e.g. COSHH) to maintain a safe and healthy working environment, including recording all health and safety checks.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds meet Environmental Health, Fire and Safety at Work regulations.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment safely.
• Serve as the first point of call for staff when repairs are required and assist with staff induction, e.g. operation of emergency exits, fire points and evacuation procedures.
• Provide advice over the telephone and/or be prepared to be called out to the home in emergencies when off duty.
• Assist with driving the home’s minibus or similar vehicles for residents’ outings as requested by the Home Manager.
