Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a unique and exciting opportunity for an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice. As a Train maintenance Apprentice, you will develop your skills to be able to perform a variety of maintenance tasks whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.

• Support maintenance specialists and team members in task specific jobs.
• Be expected to use the appropriate tools safely and complete jobs to the required quality standard.
• Be able to operate on your own initiative as well as be an effective team player.
• Follow standard operating procedures to help maintain the next generation of rolling stock.
• Carry out additional tasks in support of your team's objectives.

• Participate in the formal apprenticeship scheme to obtain a Level 3 qualification.
• Attend college and complete coursework on time and to a high standard.
• Attend and fully participate in regular training, career and development reviews with line management, college staff, and other interested parties.
• Be aware of and actively promote and implement Hitachi's ethos, culture and values.
• Adhere to the Hitachi Rail Europe's Equal Opportunities policy.
• Comply with and implement Hitachi Rail Europe's Health and Safety policy.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within capabilities as may be required.

• Enthusiasm for working in a maintenance environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Able to work in a professional and confidential manner.
• The ability to work as part of a team, attend team meetings and eventually contribute to appropriate discussions.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Excellent time management.
• Highly motivated and self‑driven individual with a desire to progress a career within a manufacturing environment.
• An understanding of health and safety requirements of a working environment.
• Self‑motivated with a flexible approach.

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
