• 25 hours per week
• £13.50 per hour
• Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-8:00pm (weekend work may be required to meet business needs)
• Enhanced PVG required
• 52 week contract

We're looking for a proactive School Cleaning Charge Hand to support the Contract Manager and Cleaning Manager in delivering a high-quality cleaning service.

You’ll lead by example, supervise the cleaning team, and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that meets both Sodexo and client standards.

• Support the day‑to‑day delivery of cleaning services.
• Supervise and support the cleaning team.
• Maintain high cleaning standards across the site.
• Help manage the contract to agreed quality and performance targets.
• Promote and monitor Health & Safety compliance.
• Carry out regular quality checks and support team performance.
• Assist with ECAT audits, safety walks and near miss reporting.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is safe, maintained and reported if faulty.
• Follow and promote COSHH procedures and safe chemical use.
• Support cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, pupils and visitors.
• Respond to customer feedback and escalate issues where needed.
• Report accidents, incidents or damage promptly.
• Provide cover during holidays and sickness when required.
• Attend training and team meetings, sharing key updates with colleagues.
• Complete additional reasonable duties as requested by management, including occasional overtime.

• Experience in the cleaning or housekeeping industry.
• Previous experience supervising a team.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A professional approach with high standards of personal presentation.
• Good understanding of modern cleaning methods and equipment.
