LOCATION: Edinburgh
THE ROLE:The successful candidate will carry out basic plumbing repairs, maintenance and PPM activities across the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh site.
You will respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnose and rectify minor plumbing faults, and ensure plumbing systems and fixtures are maintained safely and effectively. The role will involve working closely with site and facilities management teams while minimising disruption to building users.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Carry out basic plumbing repairs and maintenance across the site.
- Repair and replace taps, toilets, sinks, pipework and associated plumbing fixtures.
- Diagnose and rectify minor plumbing faults.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks as assigned.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of works undertaken.
- Liaise with site teams and FM colleagues to minimise disruption to building users.
- Follow all relevant health and safety regulations, site procedures and company policies.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.

60 and client health and safety procedures. - Ensure all plumbing works are carried out in accordance with relevant safe systems of work.
- Comply with site-specific procedures and risk assessments.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and professional conduct.
- Report any defects, hazards or issues promptly to the relevant site team.
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing;
Level 3 is ideally preferred. - Previous experience carrying out plumbing maintenance.
- Experience with in a commercial, healthcare, public sector or facilities management environment is desirable.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach.
- A new, clean PVG is required before starting.
- Right to Work documentation.
The role will be based at Royal Infirmary Edinburgh and will involve carrying out plumbing maintenance across the site. The successful candidate must be reliable, professional and comfortable working within a busy healthcare environment.
Uniform and PPE will be provided if required.
