The EICC is a premier global destination for conferences and events situated in the Heart of Edinburgh city centre. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cleaning Services Manager to lead our cleaning operation at the EICC and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained across the venue.

This is a fast-paced, event-driven role where no two days are the same. From conferences and exhibitions to major events, you will play a key role in ensuring the venue is presented to an exceptional standard for clients, delegates, visitors and the EICC team.

As Cleaning Services Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the venue is ready for some of Edinburgh's major conferences, exhibitions and events, often working to tight turnaround times and changing operational requirements.

You will lead and motivate a team of cleaning operatives, plan resources around the busy events calendar and work closely with the EICC team to ensure all cleaning requirements are delivered efficiently and to the highest possible standard.

The role requires excellent organisational and leadership skills, as well as the flexibility to respond to changing event requirements. Your normal working pattern will be 45 hours per week, usually working 5 days out of 7, although this will vary depending on the EICC's event schedule.

• Manage and oversee the day-today cleaning operation at the EICC, ensuring consistently high standards are maintained across conference and meeting rooms, public areas, washrooms, circulation areas, catering spaces and back-of-house areas
• Lead, motivate and support a team of cleaning operatives, ensuring effective performance, teamwork and high levels of service.
• Plan staffing levels, rotas and resources around the EICC's busy events calendar, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.
• Coordinate pre-event, during-event and post-event cleaning, ensuring rooms and facilities are prepared and maintained to the required standard.
• Manage event changeovers and turnaround cleaning, ensuring spaces are cleaned, reset and ready within agreed timescales.
• Monitor cleaning requirements throughout events and ensure adequate staffing is available to respond to high footfall and peak periods.
• Manage reactive cleaning requirements, responding promptly to spills, accidents, unexpected cleaning needs and last-minute event requirements.
• Work closely with EICC venue management, event operations, facilities and other departments to understand requirements and deliver a seamless cleaning service.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and audits, ensuring cleaning standards are consistently achieved, and any issues are addressed promptly.
• Ensure the cleaning operation meets agreed service standards, client expectations and contractual requirements.
• Monitor team performance and provide coaching, training and support to maintain and develop cleaning standards.
• Ensure cleaning equipment, materials, consumables and stock are effectively managed and available to meet operational requirements.
• Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out safely and in accordance with Clean master's procedures, health and safety requirements and COSHH regulations.
