Position: 239507 Clinical Service Manager Children’s Services
Location: City of Edinburgh

Responsibilities

Responsible for the performance management of Emergency, Acute and General Medicine and Medicine Specialities, outpatients and Community Paediatric Services.

To ensure resources are maximised and delivered within budget to meet the Directorate’s statutory targets and objectives including leading on national contracts and delivering efficiencies.

To manage the delivery of scheduled care waiting times through interpretation of complex data.

Responsible for the operational management of all service management and administrative services and staff across Emergency, Acute and General Medicine and Medicine Specialities, outpatients and Community Paediatric Services.

Work with Children’s services operating across the South East region, senior colleagues in other health boards, NHSS and health boards across the UK in the design and redesign of safe, effective, timely scheduled and unscheduled care services.

Contributing to strategic planning, lead, manage and direct redesign projects associated with acute and community children’s services Pan Lothian, as well as regional and national Children’s Services e.g. leading on Children’s Services NSD contracts. Negotiate and influence senior management and clinical colleagues through change management process and service redesign.

Accountable to the General Manager for the management and control of a portfolio of services to achieve business performance objectives within quality standards.

Responsible for provision of operational support to the General Manager in the efficient and effective delivery of financial efficiencies.

Working Hours & Pay

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. Please note that the pay scale in this advert will not be changing as a result.
