Location
The Action Group, The Prentice Centre, 1 Granton Mains Avenue, Edinburgh
SalaryB1 – B3: £29,039.48 – £30,361.30 per annum (pro‑rata, based on a 39‑hour week). Sleepover rate: £107.60 per night.
ContractPermanent, full‑time.
Requirements- PVG scheme membership.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle; travel between locations in the Falkirk area is required.
- Right to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship.
- Criminal Convictions Certificate (or equivalent) if lived outside the UK for more than 12 months in the last 10 years.
- Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC); if not registered at start, 6 months to register.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
The Depute Practice and Wellbeing Leader supports the Practice and Wellbeing Leader by leading a team of Support Workers and delivering direct support services.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership (30%)
- Set team objectives and maintain high morale.
- Facilitate communication between senior management and staff.
- Manage staff performance, appraisal, absence and capability issues.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports.
- Act in place of the Practice and Wellbeing Leader when absent.
- Direct Service Delivery (70%)
- Implement the TAG Key Worker system: plan, review and document support plans.
- Promote physical and emotional wellbeing of service users.
- Build trusting relationships and encourage independence.
- Support daily living activities and self‑advocacy.
- Advocate for service users in external agencies.
- Manage sleep‑in or night duties as required.
- Maintain professional documentation and confidentiality.
Essential Criteria
- Commitment to person‑centred practice.
- Professionalism and reliable service delivery.
- At least one year’s experience working with people who have support needs.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Outlook, MS Teams and Excel.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Leadership capability: coaching, performance management, and team motivation.
- Analytical and decision‑making skills under pressure.
- Planning and organising with excellent time management.
- Working effectively in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- High standard of administrative reporting.
- Previous staff management experience.
- Full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
