Transport Officer (Parking Controls)

Waverley Court – Permanent role

Salary: £40,501 – £47,639

Hours: 36 per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Network Management and Enforcement for the permanent appointment of a performance driven Transport Officer within the Council's Parking Control team to support the delivery and maintenance of a wide range of parking management schemes aimed at improving safety, reducing congestion and providing parking opportunities for a range of road users. The Parking Control team are responsible for managing requests for significant numbers of new Yellow Line restrictions from across the city and managing the Council's Disabled Persons Parking Places and Access Protection Marking services.

They also progress amendments to existing Controlled Parking Zones and the Strategic Review of Parking.

Responsibilities
  • Manage requests for new Yellow Line restrictions and Disabled Parking Places.
  • Progress amendments to Controlled Parking Zones and support the Strategic Review of Parking.
  • Oversee removal and implementation of new parking signage, road markings and other infrastructure.
  • Monitor and ensure external contractors complete works to a high standard.
  • Oversee customer and stakeholder communications.
  • Prepare briefing notes and committee reports on parking control matters.
Qualifications
  • Experience leading teams and/or managing projects.
  • High accuracy and ability to balance competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience resolving difficult customer interactions.

Pre‑employment checks include a Basic Disclosure check and an Overseas Criminal Record Check for individuals who have spent three months or more outside the UK in the last five years. An unconditional offer will be contingent on satisfactory checks.
