Regional Manager – North (Scotland, Newcastle & Carlisle)
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Regional Manager to oversee our Taste Café brand within Sainsbury’s stores across the North region. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role on a new contract mobilisation, leading the setup and ongoing success of multiple supermarket café operations.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of café sites, ensuring outstanding service, operational efficiency, and strong commercial performance. You’ll work closely with your team of Unit Managers to deliver high-quality catering experiences that delight customers and drive business results.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Unit Managers to deliver exceptional café services within Sainsbury’s Taste Café sites
- Play a pivotal role in the mobilisation of this new contract, supporting the successful setup and launch of café operations across the region
- Build and maintain strong relationships with store management, ensuring contract compliance and consistently exceeding expectations
- Ensure cafés meet Compass brand standards, with a strong focus on food quality, health & safety, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor site performance, identify training needs, and support career development across your team
- Manage labour and controllable costs across all sites to drive commercial efficiency
Drive profitability and performance through strong commercial awareness, operational excellence, and innovation - Ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience across all locations
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a senior multi-site role, ideally within supermarket cafés or catering operations
- Proven experience mobilising new contracts or opening new sites (highly desirable)
- Strong track record of leading and motivating teams to deliver results
- Experience with P&L management and driving commercial performance
- Skilled in building client relationships within retail or supermarket environments
- Experience working to brand standards while delivering excellent customer experiences
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities during mobilisation and BAU
